NITI Aayog Member Addresses Kautilya Economic Conclave Session on Regulatory Oversight in an Age of Disruption

New Delhi: NITI Aayog Member Rajiv Gauba addressed the plenary session on “Regulatory Oversight in an Age of Disruption” at the 5th Kautilya Economic Conclave in New Delhi.

Speaking at the session, Gauba highlighted the need for regulatory frameworks to evolve in step with rapid changes in the geopolitical, technological and economic landscape.

He said policymakers face a challenge that goes beyond choosing between regulation and economic growth. Instead, the focus should be on designing effective and adaptive regulations that manage emerging risks while simultaneously enabling innovation, competition and investment.

Gauba underlined that regulatory systems must remain responsive to changing circumstances and technological developments without creating unnecessary barriers to economic activity.

His remarks at the conclave emphasised the importance of finding a balanced regulatory approach that can safeguard public and economic interests while creating an environment conducive to innovation, entrepreneurship and investment.

The discussion comes amid growing policy challenges arising from rapid technological change, evolving global economic conditions and a shifting geopolitical environment, making regulatory adaptability an increasingly important part of economic policymaking.
